Rachel Corby Bio

author, plant whisperer, plant spirit medicine mentor & guide, personal rewilding coach, regenerative permaculture gardener...

I believe that the rift between humankind and wider nature needs to be healed. Not only for the wellbeing of each individual one of us, but Gaia as a whole.

I love fresh morning dew on my bare feet; the deep blue sky of a cold autumn day; wild swimming in lakes, rivers & the sea (naked); cold frosty air taking my breath away; the fat kiss of summer rain on my upturned face; the warm caress of summer breeze; moss, lichen & mushrooms; the altered state of being that immersion in wild places brings; sleeping under the stars; diving deeper & deeper into the plant realms; growing & gathering plants & mushrooms for food & medicine; meeting a plant for the first time; deepening my relationship with a single plant over the weeks, months & years; the changes that each season brings; sharing the medicine of wild; guiding people as they discover their way into the wonderful world of plant consciousness...

My Personal Story

I first began to hear the whispers of plants while completing research for my Geography degree, in a remote Scottish valley in the summer of 1994. This set me on the plant path. I subsequently followed their call across five continents, learning in each place from the peoples of those lands, but also directly from the plants, mushrooms and the land herself.

Each of my human teachers have informed and contributed to what I teach, although none of them define it. My work is uniquely my own and is constantly guided and nudged by direct communication with Gaia. I am currently (and have been for over 20 years) under training with many different plant spirits who guide me, companion me and provide me with some kick-ass allies.

I have been leading shamanic plant journey groups and running workshops encouraging the development of relationships with plant spirits since 2006. As the years have passed I have added longer retreats, mentorships and apprenticeships to my offerings. I have also evolved what I teach as I have come to understand that rewilding - getting back in touch with our raw, wild, nature is key to any healing whether on a personal, or planetary, level.
